Gotthard Road Tunnel (1973), Ticino, Switzerland
Fr. 445.-- including VAT
Spectacularly shaped adularia crystal showing the rare, prismatic Fibbia Habit particularly well. Good luster, nice partial chlorite coating and some hematite flakes at the base.
The crystal does have some damage, there are spots here and there. Still, they're not too obvious. And considering how specimen recovery happened during tunnel work in the 1970s, it's still remarkably intact.
From the excavation of the iconic Gotthard Road Tunnel (approx. 1973).
105 mm high, 25 mm wide.
