Glassy fluorite crystals, rare bavenite and an iconic, rare locality - this specimen has a lot going for it.
This 10x5.8 cm piece of porous granite has several glassy fluorite octahedrons (2 to 12 mm) on it that show good color and are mostly complete. In parts the bavenite, which occurs as pure white fibrous masses, seems to have impeded fluorite growth.
Found September 2022, new finds are not to be expected.
Bavenite is a rare beryllium-bearing silicate, by the way.
