Attractive specimen showing a fairly large and well formed crystal of the very rare species cafarsite on typical gneiss matrix.
This mineral, a complex Calcium-Iron-Arsenate is only found in one area worldwide (Binn Valley in Switzerland and adjoining Monte Cervandone area in Italy).
The crystal measures 10 mm and shows the typical rough, brown edges. A superior yet affordable specimen of this rarity.
Specimen size: 5x2.5 cm (2"x1").
